Originally from Mossman, Debra is the author of 'The Girl Who Left’, the story of her mother’s life as a child in an occupied village during WWII, her proxy marriage and her life as a migrant to Australia.

Kirsty grew up in Sydney and lived in Alice Springs, Darwin, and London before moving to Cairns in 2010. She wrote her first book, 'Himalayan Dreams: The Story of Som Tamang' after a life-changing visit to Nepal following the 2015 earthquakes.

Joining us from Townsville, Mary published her first non-fiction book, 'Weighed Down: Unlearning the Lies Sold to us About our Bodies' in 2024. A collaborative project, 'Weighed Down' explains body image issues, diet culture and disordered eating in a way that anyone can understand.

Nicola is a passionate storyteller, advocate, and mother from Ravenshoe. She is the author of 3 titles, including 'The Thing About Jed', a moving and honest portrayal of her son’s diagnosis with Moyamoya Disease.

Mila has called tropical Cairns home for most of her life. Mila writes twisty historical fiction with a splash of romance, blending real-life mysteries with her own discoveries from genealogy and DNA sleuthing. Her latest title, 'Yours as Ever, Sam', is her 4th publication.

Alan has lived and worked in diverse roles throughout Australia, including isolated First Nations communities. Alan's debut novel, 'Isherwood's Australia' tells of his vast experience exploring our beautiful country and beyond.

Originally from Texas, USA, Charlie Stevenson now calls Cairns home. Until retirement in 2004, Charlie travelled the world, living and working in countries such as Germany, Ireland, and England. Charlie's publications include 'War Stories' and 'Uncle Henry's Hacienda'.

A Cairns local since 1973, Chris is a prize-winning writer, and his stories have also been featured in The Weekend Australian. His titles include, 'Echoes of Gallipoli', 'The Imposter' and 'Counter Punch', among many more.

Born in Devon, England, June discovered the joy of writing later in life. Her first publication, 'The Narrow House of Clay: Forbidden Love' takes readers on a journey from Cornwall, England to the shores of Australia.

Surrounded by an abundance of positivity, Rob became familiar with non-action words, the power of conditioning, and that it's okay to say ‘no.’ He now enjoys writing poetry about nature, nurture, comedy, self-help, and positivity.

Anita has worked and travelled extensively abroad but now enjoys calling Cairns home with her husband, two high-energy kids and a flock of pretty, opinionated chickens. Her publications include the 'Accidental Chicken Heroes' series and the 'Dragon Pets' series.

From Mount Carbine, Chelsey Reis is a writer and artist. With over 20 years of experience working for local government, Chelsey empowers children, youth, and communities through disability advocacy, community arts, and place-based projects.

Maddi Wright is fuelled by her deep passion to nurture her kids' interests. Turning her entrepreneurial focus to her boys, Carter and Marlow, together they have created The Wright Bros. project, which has now published two books: Poo-Heads, Numbers One & Two.

From Mareeba, Renee grew up with her nose in a book, always reading fantasy books full of magic and inspiration.  Her series of children's books began with 'Koko and the Magic Flute: Overcoming Grief'.

Robyn’s world is surrounded by the majestic presence of tall fan palms and ancient rainforest trees. A lover of the arts in all their forms, from music to painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and storytelling, Robyn's latest publication is titled 'Grandpa & Joey's First Ride.'

Ali enjoys creating stories. It drives her. Her novels are intended to entertain, to bring the reader to a world they would not normally encounter.

Jeremy Thomas is a Far North Queensland author with a passion for the strange and unusual. A devoted collector of curiosities, he finds inspiration in ghost stories, folklore, and the mysteries of the past. 

Sam writes noblebright fantasy about nonconformist, strong women. Social justice is the lifeblood of her work. Come and meet Sam & be introduced to the wonderful worlds she creates through storytelling.

 In 2023, Alyson Walton achieved a dream and published her first novel, an epic fantasy. Recently, she produced a second book, an anthology of poems and short stories, and is currently working on her third, a sequel to her first book. 

Rachael has lived on the Tablelands for well over thirty years, growing up in the small dairy farm town of Malanda. She has over twenty years of writing experience, has published two books, and is working on her third book of a five-book Fantasy series, named Mayhuethkin. 

Christine is an early childhood and primary educator. Her book, ‘Find Your Beach’, is a positive and pleasant journey of self-reflection, offering thought-provoking insights and questions that prompt the reader to delve deep into their inner being. 

Chantal Munro has entertained children and families for over 30 years. Chantal travelled as a children’s entertainer, storyteller, and author throughout Australia and the US, but now calls Far North Queensland home. 

Co-founder of '100 Story Building', Lachlann has worked with over 50,000 children and young people. Now based in Cairns, Lachlann enjoys writing and working with children, schools and communities on storytelling.

Catherine is a newly published author based in Cairns. With a background in creative writing, English literature, and journalism, Catherine brings a thoughtful and imaginative voice to her work.
